We Did That – Featuring Joe Wampler & Camp Wamp

My name is Joe Wampler and I had the honor and privilege of recording a song with HearTheHope in Cincinnati on my Camp Wamp Across America road trip. The song that we recorded was one about my grandparents and how they raised my dad. My dad was born with a severe case of cerebral palsy and my grandparents never let that stop him from fighting to have what one would consider a normal life. Because of their hard work he has grown up to have a wife and two kids (my sister and I). He also started a camp for kids with disabilities designed after one that he went to as a kid that gave him the same message that my grandparents gave him.

The best part of the recording session was having a few future camp wampers join me in the recording and play the tambourine, a drum, a guitar, and some singing. It made the song so much better than I could have made it on my own. It was a true representation of the efforts that my grandparents put forward with my dad because without inspiring him, I would have never been able to go on this road trip where my buddies and I hosted these kids with different activities.

HearTheHope welcomed us like no other and really guided us as we made this song. They were nothing but incredible as the song came together and they are the reason it was as special as it was. It is something that I will never forget and I’m sure the kids that co-preformed won’t either.
